Cheetah the chimp was portrayed by a dwarf in a chimp suit. Exterior shooting took place circa June 1920 on a three-acre jungle set built adjacent to the National Film Corporation studio in Hollywood, California. The earliest documented screening of the serial that is known took place in late October 1920 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
